Meet the Trainers

Eric Stutzman

Eric (he/him) is the Chief Executive Officer of ACHIEVE Centre for Leadership and the Crisis & Trauma Resource Institute. In this role, he provides support for our leadership team, focuses on strategy and relationships, and is actively involved in managing our daily operations. Eric is a caring and insightful leader who believes that building authentic relationships is the best way to lead people effectively.

Before becoming CEO in 2020, Eric was ACHIEVE’s Managing Director for seven years, and has been a trainer since 2008. He has provided leadership in the field of conflict resolution and mediation for more than 20 years and loves to work with other leaders to build their capacity to create healthy responses to conflict. He is a past president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Manitoba, and has been an administrator, board chair, senior mediator, trainer, and lead negotiator for a variety of other organizations.

Eric believes that the best leaders and employees turn their minds first to listening with curiosity, and never put operations before people. He is co-author of The Culture Question and Don’t Blame the Lettuce, and is the author of many of ACHIEVE’s workshops including Management and Supervision, Coaching Strategies for Leaders, and Dealing with Difficult People. Eric is a gifted trainer and speaker who makes material come alive for participants through humour, storytelling, and real-world application.

Wendy Loewen

Wendy (she/her) is the Managing Director of ACHIEVE Centre for Leadership. In this role, she provides leadership in managing ACHIEVE staff and trainers, and developing workshop materials. Wendy is a thoughtful and empowering leader who believes in the importance of listening to the needs and aspirations of people, and then facilitating the next step in their development. She has worked with ACHIEVE since the beginning, first as a trainer and Curriculum Development Specialist, then as Director of Training. She is the former vice president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Manitoba. Wendy is a former teacher and director of a health and social services program. She has a Master’s degree in Conflict Analysis and Management, and Bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Education.

Wendy believes that learning is a dynamic and lifelong endeavor, and with commitment and guidance, the process should be enjoyable and motivating. She is co-author of The Culture Question and Don’t Blame the Lettuce, and is the author of many of our workshops including Performance Management, Respectful Workplace, and Assertive Communication.
