Strategic Planning

Every organization benefits from deciding where it will focus its efforts in the short and long term. We believe that strategic planning works best when the process is easy to understand and is grounded in an organization’s vision, values, and culture.

Strategic Planning

Many organizations use strategic planning sessions to identify their goals and prioritize their areas of focus for the next 1 to 5 years. Our experienced consultants will work alongside you and your team to create a framework that will define the future path of your organization. They will help you anchor your planning sessions in your organization’s vision, values, and purpose.

Our specialists will adapt the planning process to fit with the culture of your organization. In all cases, they will help your team envision the organization’s future, and then identify priority areas of focus for achieving that future.

At ACHIEVE, we believe that strategic planning must include a listening process. Through listening, we identify vital themes for consideration in the organization’s future. That is why the strategic planning process often includes interviews of key people, which will be conducted by our consultants. The time it takes to complete the in-person portion of the strategic planning process often ranges from 1 to 3 days, depending on your context and constraints. We will provide a summary report of the strategic planning meetings that can be tailored to include additional documents and graphics should you choose.

Here are the typical phases of ACHIEVE’s strategic planning process:

Phase 1:Identify the goals for strategic planning to ensure they align with your organization’s mission and values.
Phase 2: Review your organization’s current and past strategic plans.
Phase 3: Determine who should be interviewed and create a set of interview questions.
Phase 4: Conduct one-on-one interviews with key people in your organization.
Phase 5: Identify themes gathered from the interviews and report them to leadership.
Phase 6: Determine the focus and priorities for the strategic planning session, as well as who will be in attendance.
Phase 7: Facilitate a strategic planning session, ranging from a half-day to a full-day in length.
Phase 8: Draft, revise, and finalize a 7-10-page strategic plan document.

Throughout the process, our consultants will work closely with you to ensure your needs are met and that you have a plan to move into the future with confidence.
