Nathan Gerbrandt

Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Managing Director, Facilitation

Nathan (he/him) serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for CTRI & ACHIEVE. In this role, he helps shape the organizations’ long-term vision, translating high-level strategy into practical, results-driven action. Nathan is deeply passionate about fostering trauma-informed leadership at every level – individual, team, and organizational – by creating the conditions for staff, directors, and facilitators to thrive and bring their best selves to their work.

Before joining CTRI, Nathan developed and led partnerships aimed at improving service delivery for individuals with co-occurring disorders and complex trauma who were in conflict with the law. His experience includes strengthening risk management practices, ensuring safe interactions, and promoting collaborative treatment planning in highly complex service environments.

Nathan holds a Master of Social Work degree and is a Registered Social Worker. Over the past decade, he has provided strategic leadership that has guided CTRI’s service delivery growth and evolution.

He believes that meaningful learning happens when the right connection is made between content, facilitator, and learner – a synergy that can spark a ripple effect of positive change. Nathan is the co-author of A Little Book About Trauma-Informed Workplaces and serves as editor for many of CTRI’s training resources, including Trauma-Informed Care, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, and De-escalating Potentially Violent Situations. As a presenter, Nathan is known for his engaging, interactive style and his ability to bring real-life meaning to every workshop.
