Catherine Bargen

Catherine has worked in the fields of conflict resolution and restorative justice since 1999, and holds a Master of Arts in Conflict Transformation. She has extensive experience providing leadership, facilitation services, and training within not-for-profit, government, business, and school environments. Catherine served as the Restorative Justice Coordinator within the Victim Services and Crime Prevention Branch of the government of British Columbia from 2008-2017, and was a Program Manager for Victim Services with over 50 victim services and anti-violence groups. In addition to her work with ACHIEVE, Catherine provides high level consulting for organizations creating justice and conflict management systems. She is a sought-after consultant and trainer in Canada as well as internationally, and is recognized for her insightful analysis and collaborative approach to working with complex situations. Drawing heavily from the discipline of restorative justice, Catherine believes that good process creates space for productive conversations and just, transformative relationships among people and across diverse communities. As a trainer, she brings a spirit of fun, curiosity, and compassionate listening to her workshops.
